Anyone planning to be in the dirt at the facility (this includes the arena floors and outdoor areas) must have the proper footwear. Shoes must be of sturdy construction, closed toed and NO heels.
Customers may smoke in designated areas ONLY.
Due to heavy equipment operation, visitors must stay within their designated areas.
Wear seat belts, obey posted speed limits and be ready to yield to moving equipment while driving.
Always face the machine and use three points of contact when getting on and off machinery. Never jump.
Don’t climb on top of the cab, tires, attachments, hood, or fenders.
Be aware that equipment surfaces may be slippery when wet.
Don’t touch the exhaust engine, radiator, or hood, they may be hot.
In the cab, look but do not touch the controls without permission from an instructor.
Never operate machinery without supervision from an instructor.
CATERPILLAR FACTORY TOURS
REQUIRED: Your legs and feet must be fully covered – no heels, open back or toed shoes, no capris, shorts, skirts, and no dangling clothing, neck ties, jewelry, or rings. Tennis shoes are fine.
If visitors arrive without the proper attire, they will not be allowed to go on tour.
Hearing and eye protection will be provided and must always be worn while on the tour path. Groups are required to stay within the marked tour routes in each facility.
Safety & special requirements: The safety of our visitors is of great concern. Therefore, we ask that visitors with walking casts, motorized wheelchairs, orthopedic devices, crutches, and canes be brought to our attention well in advance of your visit. Some of these devices are not allowed in certain facilities. Giving us notice will allow us to make special arrangements, where possible, such as carts, wheelchairs, vans etc.
Photography is not allowed in Caterpillar manufacturing facilities. There are certain areas where photography is allowed in some facilities. These areas will be identified and communicated by your Dealer Customer Rep (DCR/guide).
Please leave the following items locked in your vehicle - fanny packs, across the body bags, computer bags or bags of any kind. They are not allowed in manufacturing facilities.
The Smoke Free Illinois Act prohibits smoking in all workplaces in the State of Illinois. Nicotine use in any form of tobacco products (pipes, cigars, cigarettes, chewing tobacco) or “vaping” with e-cigarettes is prohibited.
