Registration Information

The event will be hosted at the Caterpillar Edward J. Rapp Customer and Training Center in Clayton, NC.  Each attendee is responsible for: registering themselves for the training, booking their hotel room, travel & lodging expenses, meals, entertainment, and transportation to and from airport.  Snacks, drinks and lunch will be provided onsite during training days (M-Th).  In order to register, please see button at the top right of your screen.  If you have any questions or need support registering, please contact Olivia Lampe at lampe_olivia_h@cat.com.

*note: each participant will go through each session, as not all sessions are full days.  You will receive your group assignment (red, yellow, blue or black) in a follow up email closer to the training date.

 

Hotel

- You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations (see link below).

- Our recommended hotel is the Courtyard by Marriott Raleigh Cary (102 Edinburgh Dr, Cary, NC 27511).  We suggest arrival at the hotel on Sunday, November 12th.  You must book HERE in order to get the Caterpillar rate & be included in daily breakfast.  *Last day to book is 10/13/2023*

 

Transportation

- Transportation will be provided daily, Monday through Thursday, from the Courtyard by Marriott Raleigh Cary to the Customer & Training Center.  The bus(es) will depart from the hotel at 7:00am and return to the hotel 5:15pm.

- If attendees stay at a different hotel, they must arrive at the Courtyard at 7:00am daily in order to ride the bus OR they must transport themselves to the Customer & Training Center each day.

- Please note that Clayton security will not admit Ubers or Lyfts to come through the gate.  Taxis and other pre-arranged transportation services (i.e. White Horse Transportation, EcoStyle Transportation, Blue Diamond Transportation, etc.) will be allowed to go through the gate.

 

Visitor Information

The following safety regulations have been compiled to ensure your visit to the Edward J. Rapp Customer & Training Center will be safe, informative, and enjoyable.

- Clear protective safety glasses will be provided and should be worn during facility tours.  Visitors may use their own tinted safety glasses while operating machines outside,

- Full foot covering is required in facilities no open toes or open heels, heels or sandals. Well-constructed athletic shoes are acceptable, but not preferred. Steel toe work shoes or work boots are preferred.

- Canes are acceptable. Crutches are not permitted in Factory.  Carts may be used for factory tours at facilities where available. Otherwise, a wheelchair will be rented. Please be sure to specify if any member of your group requires any of these services before coming to the facility.

- Cell phones should be turned off during presentations, factory tours, product demonstrations, and during training sessions. Designated break times will be provided to access voice mail and return messages.

- All Caterpillar facilities have the right to refuse anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

- Visitors will be asked to remove rings and other jewelry while in the factory and while out on the Product Demonstration Areas.

 

Other Regulations:

- Name tags will be provided and should be worn at all times.

- Safety Vests will be provided and should always be worn while in the factory and out on the Product Demonstration Areas.

- Cameras and cell phones with internal cameras are not allowed inside factories.

- Photography at the Customer & Training Center is permitted.

 

Helpful Hints:

- Please wear comfortable clothing. Jeans and work boots are recommended.  Shorts are not allowed.

- Be sure to pack a light "waterproof" jacket as we will be outside "rain or shine".

- Please check the Clayton, NC forecast prior to coming to ensure you are prepared.

When you arrive:

- Please enter the facility at the Main Entrance.  You will see two machines sitting on display and several flag poles.

- Proceed straight into the facility and stop at the front gate.  There are two gates, please enter through the right gate.

- Please press the button on the speaker box to speak to our Security Staff, if there is no one in the security shack.  (Note, if you are driving a diesel vehicle, you may need to turn your engine off to be able to hear and communicate with our Security Staff).  If no one responds, please call 919-550-1100 from your cell phone for assistance.

- Please provide your name and tell them you are here for training at the Customer & Training Center.  They should have a list of all the visitors expected that day.  Once they check your name off the list, they will open the gate and let you into the facility.

- Once you get through the front gate, please take the first right hand turn and follow the street towards the left. It will take you to a round-about parking lot.

- Please park your vehicle in the parking lot at the back of the building and head up the walkway, leading up the hill.

- The Customer & Training Center is located at the top of the hill overlooking the Demo Field.

- Please follow the walkway up to the front of the building – the Customer Center team will meet you there.
